If you've spotted a splash of green in Telkom's familiar blue branding lately, you’re not imagining things. South Africa’s telecom giant Telkom has officially revealed its new logo and identity, signaling what the company calls the start of a “new era.”

The refresh, which updates the original 2014 design, doesn’t completely reinvent Telkom’s look. It keeps the same modern typeface but adds a bold green accent to the “T,” injecting a pop of vibrancy. And while subtle, the visual shift is meant to reflect something much bigger than design.
Telkom has also dropped its 2014 tagline, “Tomorrow starts today,” in favour of something more optimistic and human: “Possible begins here.”
According to Gugu Mthembu, Chief Marketing Officer at Telkom, this isn’t just a new logo—it’s a symbol of deeper change happening within the company.
“This is more than a cosmetic change. Our new identity is a symbol of the internal transformation already underway at Telkom,” Mthembu said.
So what exactly is changing?
The rebrand is reportedly part of Telkom’s ongoing efforts to evolve—not just in services and strategy, but in how the company connects with South Africans across all walks of life. Mthembu emphasized the move is about bringing more colour, humanity, and vibrancy into everything Telkom does, while still staying grounded in its mission to make the future possible for all.
The rollout of the new look will be seen across all customer touchpoints—from digital spaces to physical storefronts and marketing platforms.
But the question remains: will this refreshed identity actually translate to better services, more transparency, and improved access for customers?
